On rear drums, splines will occasionally need to be tightened or even replaced entirely. The price for this is $50 and $310 respectively. For front drums, the bearing race seats will sometimes need to be reduced in diameter in order to stop the race from turning in the drum. This service runs $40 per seat resize.
All brake drums relined by The Machine Shop are warranted for life and for racing. Generally, you can expect a 1-2 week turnaround time. Pricing is $410 per drum if you send all four, or $450 per if you send a pair. For one single drum, relining is $500. We encourage you to shop around…you won’t find a better price anywhere else.
Once your drums have been relined, your shoes will most likely need to be relined and arced as well. Our standard lining is good for road use and vigorous driving and is generally in stock. For race applications, a harder material that is not street suitable is available, with a lead time of about 2 weeks. In either case, we will need your rebuildable cores, otherwise a $250 charge is levied. Arcing your supplied shoes is $60 per set.
